Keep the doors bolted from inside throughout the day and all doors locked from inside during
the night.
|
 |
Do not keep excess cash or valuables at home. Keep them in the bank or in a bank locker.
|
 |
Do not display too much of ostentation in and around the house, specially in front of servants or
strangers. |
 |
If you find a stranger loitering about the house under circumstances, which appear suspicious,
report him to the police or the security of the locality. If you are not sure or feel insecure then
it is better to come back later and then make an entry. |
 |
Do not allow vendors to enter your house to deliver supplies or collect money. If while talking
to a stranger at the door you need to go inside for any reason, then do close the door with the
stranger outside. Most of people feel embarrassed while closing door with the
visitor outside, but then your embarrassment could cost you your life and/or
valuables. |
 |
If on returning home you find that there has been a break-in i.e. doors open or window broken,
do not enter the house. There may be intruders inside. Go to a neighbor's house and ring up the
police or collect more help before entering. Remember, the intruder, in order to escape may hurt
you also if you are alone but when there are more than one people then he would normally not dare
to confront. |
