There are a variety of monitors available. The clarity of
picture is the result of the resolution capabilities inherent in the camera, lens,
transmission mode over which the video signal is sent and finally the Monitor resolutions
and color capabilities. In a multi-monitor alarm station, the 9-inch monitors are adequate
for fixed monitoring. One or more 14-inch units are recommended where sequential switchers
pass the scenes being displayed. The larger monitor allows for easier and quicker
identification of personnel and activities. These days normal TV's can also be used with
most of the cameras, though resolution of TV may not be as high.
