AC Sequencer
Normally for all the critical installations, there is a provision of a stand-by AC. The Stand-by AC is installed so that if the main AC fails, the stand-by can be put to use till the main AC is repaired. This has many disadvantages:
 |
The Main AC wears out faster and needs an early replacement |
 |
The standby AC is not tested periodically for fitness, with the result when the standby AC is switched ON (on failure of main AC) it may not work. So, there could be a situation that despite having standby AC there is no working AC if the main AC fails |
 |
The standby AC does not get adequately tested during warranty period |
Keeping the above in mind, our system, electronically, keeps on switching either one of the two AC's for 2/4 hours each. This evens out the wear and tear for the Standby AC's.
We have also provided bypass switches in case either of the ACs are to be manually switched ON. User can select between 2 hour or 4 hour switching mode just by pressing a switch.
Temperature Override
It is feasible that one AC may be out of order OR one AC is not enough to cool the enclosure under certain conditions. If the ambient temperature exceeds the temperature set on our panel then our system shall automatically switch ON BOTH the AC's at the same time. The temp. override shall automatically be reset once the room temperature becomes less than the temperature set on the system.
Our system switches ON the AC's but the final control remains with the AC thermostat. It is possible to bypass the AC thermostat altogether too. Temperature override is not a substitute for the thermostat on the AC.
For this we need that the AC Power supply is routed through our system.
We also offer customized solutions for switching between more than 2 ACs.
AC Failure Detection for Window/Split AC
In the high end models usually there are detectors/relays available to detect failure of AC compressor. It is possible that when AC is switched ON only the Fan gets switched ON and the compressor does not. Such a condition can lead to high temperature inside the enclosure.
AC Failure Detection
It is possible that when the compressor is supposed to get switched ON, it does not. This could be on account of compressor failure that is the most common cause of failure. Our system detects such failures and communicates this as a compatible input for the NMS (one for each AC).
For this we require that the compressor's input is routed through our system. We also need connections to the mains voltage supply to the AC.
If a failure is detected then a buzzer sounds. A buzzer can also be extended for location away from the AC.
