We offer Rack Mountable solutions to take care of safety and security requirements related to Rack and it's accessories.
Our solution monitors the following eventualities
Intrusion detection on opening of the main door or side panels (the back door can also be covered at additional cost) |
Monitoring of the fan mounted on the rack |
Intrusion Detection
Intrusion detection can be done locally (sounding of buzzer) or remotely (using NMS).
Again intrusion detection can be done by detecting if the person who has opened the door is authorized to do so or it is an unauthorized entry. In case it is important to detect the authorization then we propose solutions like Password / Proximity Card based opening of the enclosure/rack. Please refer to the brochures on Proximity/Passowrd based access control for details.
In the elementary form, the Intrusion detection consists of placing micro switches that get activated when any of the door/panel under monitoring are opened. The micro switches that we provide normally are mountable directly on the Panel rails, however for special racks we do the customized mounting with the help of 'C' Clamps with spring mounting (if required).
The micro switch is specially manufactured keeping in mind that slight misalignment or pressure on any corner of the door does not give a false output.
The micro switch that we provide is a NO variety (Normally open) |
The contacts of the switch shall be closed (shorted) on closing the door. |
The special construction of switch allows the contact to remain in the Closed position for movement of appox. 6 mm. This means that the switch has a in-built margin of +/- 3mm for any misalignment etc. |
The closure of contacts is instantaneous without any time delay. |
Fan Movement Monitoring System
We provide Fan movement monitoring system to detect the actual movement of the fan based on the current consumed by the fan. We feel that the fan movement cannot be reliably detected by monitoring the voltage supplied to the Fan. Also, if optical sensors are used to detect the movement then there is a possibility of false alarm due to dust and moisture that may deposit over a period of time on the optical sensors. Hence we are quoting for the Fan movement monitor based on current consumption. The current consumption method is ideally suited for variety of fans.
Suitable for 12/24/48V DC fans (to be specified at the time of order placement) |
Input 12/24V DC (We can use the DC power that is available in the panel to reduce the cost - this must be specified at the time of order placement. The standard model uses 230V AC as input) |
NMS Output : NO as well as NC |
NMS activation in case of fan failure of stoppage of fan due to obstruction or wear and tear. |
Visual output in case of fan failure (LED on front of panel) |
Power input indication on front of panel |
Protected against reverse polarity of input current |
Special design that allows fans to operate even in case of power failure or malfunction of the unit. |
Standard unit for 4 fans |
Occupies only 1U space - special units can be designed for vertical placement |
Integrated to Intrusion micro switch to give a common NMS output - this avoids requirement of extra NMS channel |
NMS automatically resets if Intrusion is removed or the faulty fan obstruction/problem is rectified. This feature is very useful for fans that have a self-obstruction removal feature |
Integrated Output
Necessary integration between Intrusion detection switches, Fan movement monitoring systems to provide a single NO/NC Voltage free contact that is suitable for directly connecting with NMS
NOTE:
Some of the features mentioned above may require purchase of optional equipment.
We reserve the right to revise features and cost at any time, without any prior notice.
